Here's how the registrant totals for the state's five recognized parties changed between January 2, 2013, and July 1, 2013:
Democratic Party registrants decreased by 10656, from 1405085 to
1394429.
Republican Party registrants decreased by 272, from 809298
to 809026.
Libertarian Party registrants increased by 797, from 7244
to 8041.
Green Party registrants increased by 80, from 1729 to 1809.
Reform Party registrants increased by 5, from 1406 to 1411.
More than 200 political parties are represented on the Louisiana voter registration rolls, but so far as I know
only four of those parties have actively sought recognized party status in
Louisiana in
recent years. Here's how those parties did in the first half of the year:
Americans
Elect registrants decreased by 28, from 747 to 719.
Conservative Party registrants
increased by 47, from 555 to 602.
Christian
Party registrants decreased by 4, from 172 to 168.
Constitution
Party registrants decreased by 6, from 116 to 110.
Here's how the following notable registrant groups changed:
"No Party" registrants increased by 8815, from 643882
to 652697.
"Independent" registrants increased by 62, from 46472
to 46534.
"Other"
registrants increased by 35, from 1183 to 1218.
